This accessory lets you centre the Moon and planets for astrophotography. A flip-mirror is used with refractors for this purpose. But this centring device has been specially developed for use with Newtonian telescopes.
A small mirror directs the light in the built-in eyepiece. Once the desired lunar formation or planet is centred, you can simply remove the eyepiece with the mirror out of the beam path, allowing the light to fall on the camera sensor unhindered. See also the two pictures on the right.
